The Reading Rush

Hey everyone! Yade here! Hope you are all doing good and enjoying your day/night/evening. Today I’m going to be talking about my experience joining the Reading Rush (Booktubeathon).

Monday 22-July

Books read: Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe and Anna Karenina.

I started with Anna Karenina because is the biggest one, but after reading the first 5 chapters I decided to change this book to HP because I was enjoying it and didn’t wanted to rush myself to read it in 7 days. Then I started Ari and Dan and… wow I didn’t expected to be so invested so quickly.

Pages read: 169

Challenges finished: none

Tuesday 23-July

Books read: Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban and Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe

My boyfriend and I wanted to finish HP this day so we read 5 or 6 chapters that night (but we ACTUALLY didn’t finished it today). The most intriguing, exciting and important chapters were upon us and we were dying to read them. With Ari and Dan I read until I had almost a 100 pages left and OMG my heart this book was killing me little by little.

Pages read: 247

Challenges completed: participate in a Twitter sprint (I had since yesterday but Today I actually tweeted in several).

Wednesday 24-July

Books read: Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe and Inmarsecible.

We finished HP close to 12:30am, discussed the last chapter until 1am. LOVED IT! During the day, between doing other stuff and watching the news (if you are from 🇵🇷, or if you know what have been going on in the main Island you know) I finished Ari and Dan and… you’ll have to wait for the review. After that I wasn’t in the mood to read a full book, book hangover I bet, so I decided to read Inmarsecible which are short stories and was a re-read.

Pages read: 142

Challenges completed: read a book with purple on the cover (HP), read a book with 5+ words on the title (Ari and Dan), read an author’s first book (Inmarsecible), read a 5 star book (HP).

Thursday 25-July

Books read: Alicia en el País de las Maravillas and Harry Potter and the Globet of Fire

(I predict 0 challenges completed today and at least 100 pages) let’s see…

Well… I was wrong, I completed a challenge and read 50 pages of Globet of Fire.

Pages read: 171

Challenge completed: read a book in the same spot (Alicia en el País de las maravillas)

Friday 26-July

Books read: To all the boys I loved before

Well, I started my re-read of TATBILB and I hope that I’m going to enjoy it as much as I did the first time.

Pages read: 147

Challenges completed: none

Saturday 27-July

Books read: The Tea Dragon Society, To all the Boys I Loved Before and Robot Dreams.

I loved TTDS OMG WHAT A CUTE STORY! The design is amazing, the story is so cute and makes you feel like there is still hope in humanity and that you don’t have to choose just one thing for your future. I finished TATBILB, I did enjoyed as much as I did the first time, so that’s good. And then I read Robot Dreams… I wanted something short and light and you know and I found this and wow it was more than I expected it to b. I thought it was going to be just funny and nothing more but it was really good even though it has zero dialogue. Is a comic? Graphic novel? I don’t know, but it was really good and in some way teach us about several things. Oh! And I joined the IG read in of The Reading Rush!

Pages read: 493 I’m impressed

Challenge completed: read a book with a no human MC (TTDS) and read a book you wanted to read in 2018 (Robot Dreams).

Sunday 28-July

Books read: A walk to remember

I rewatched TATBILB movie with my boyfriend and read A walk to remember and… my heart.

Pages read: 215

Challenge completed: read a book and watch the adaptation (TATBILB) and join a read in.

Conclusion:

It was my first time joining this readathon and it was kind of stressing but it was so good. I really liked it except for one incident on Twitter but it wasn’t related to the hosts of the readathon.

Well, I can’t wait for next year. Thank you for reading my post, hope you enjoyed. If you took part of the Reading Rush let me know down below how you did? and if you would join it again? Take care, see you in my next post (probably about The Book Junkie Trials). Keep reading and creating. Byeeeeeeeeeeee!
