Decking the Blog #1: AIDS and HIV in books

Hey everyone, Yade here! Happy 1st of December! Most of you might be thinking, “why is she going to talk about books about AIDS?!” well, today is World AIDS Day. Since it is a taboo for some people, I think we have to make awareness of this topic.

No, I’m not an expert on AIDS, but my mom used to work with this condition and she is always saying how little awareness communities have about it. With this in mind I wanted to research, on Goodreads mostly, about some books, FICTION and NON-FICTION, that talk about it, so let me mention the ones that caught my eyes.

There you have it, more books discuss or at least mention this topic (GR LINK), but these are the ones that caught my attention for one reason or another. I’m sorry to start this holly month on this note but is something we should learn about, is topic teachers, professors and families should discuss so most people know about the how and the why. NO, AIDS and HIV happen just to the LGBTQ+ community. NO, is not only transmitted via sex. And may other things.

If you have read any of this book, feel free to let me know what you thought about them. If you haven’t, are you thinking of picking one of these? If you have any recommendationslet me know in the comments
