As you may know, every year there is a HUGE amount of readathons and readalongs happening and 2020 wasn’t the exception. Therefore, I’ll let you know each readathon I tried this year, my goal for each of them and how many books I ended up reading, SPOILER is almost a fail for every readathon. Let’s get started.
- Blackathon hosted by The Novel Lush and Bowtiesandbooks It ran the whole month of February, divided in two teams, four challenges each one. And a watch-a-long each Friday. My goal was to read at least two books and watch at least one movie (because I LOVE that movie). I read ONE book, The Poet X by Elizabeth Acevedo and didn’t watched any movie.
- Contemporary-a-thon hosted by Chelseadollingreads, Pages and Pens and Myreadingisodd. It was from February 10 through 16 with seven challenges. I wanted to read two books again. I read ONE and it was my re-read of Ps. I still love you by Jenny Han.
- The Backlist Readathon hosted by Jacqueline, Zoe Delaney, Chandler, Melanie, Emily and Gabby This was from March 9th to the 15th with six prompts. For this one I was trying to read at least three books. I ended up reading… yes, you guessed it ONE book. It was Murder on the Orient Express by Agatha Christie.
- Royal Weekend hosted by Rachel Marie This one ran the “last” week of March I think… I don’t really remember. Again, I wanted to read two books and ended up reading ONE which was Dark and Deepest Red by Anna Marie McLemore.
- OWLs hosted by BookRoast This readathon was the whole month of April, I was supposed to read 13 books… yeah, sure. I ended up reading nine books… 9 BOOKS! Success for me!
- Believeathon hosted by Gavin This ran at some point in May, I can’t remember exactly. I wanted to read AT LEAST one book and I read ZERO!
- Contemporary-a-thon hosted by Chelseadollingreads, Pages and Pens and Myreadingisodd. (I think) I don’t remember when this one took place, I just know it was in May, seems like middle of the month. I tried to read at least two books and ended up with ONE. This was Radio Silence by Alice Oseman.
- TBR Readthon hosted by Astrid Pizarro and myself Was intended to run the whole month of June, we extended it to the beginning of July if I’m correct. The goal was to read seven books I think.. I read three.
- TotallySpiesathon hosted by The Perks of Being Noura, BookishBuddies, Storribooks, kjandherbooks, babblesnbooks, nssbookaholic, ServillasSpeaks and myself It was the whole month of July, kind of a board game readathon were you had to roll dices to know which prompt you need to complete. I had a goal to read five books, I ended up reading ___.
- The Reading Rush hosted by Ariel and Raeleen This one was from the 2oth to the 26th of July. I wanted to read seven books and I read seven books.
- NEWTS hosted by BookRoast This one ran the month of August, it was the last time G did it just because her followers asked her to. I wanted to do it but without any pressure so I didn’t have a goal and because of that I didn’t checked how many prompts I completed except for five prompts, so let’s say I read five books for this.
- Diversifyyashelf hosted by The Perks of Being Noura This ran for a week in August, I wanted to read at least five books but I just read two, A Quiet Kind of Thunder by Sara Barnard and Felix Ever After by
- Bratz readathon created by trashytomes This was in the month of September, I was suppose to read five books and I read four, good for me!
- Adventures in Wonderland hosted by Gavin, Jade, Kaitlin and Intended for the month of September, focused on middle grade books with seven prompts. I read NONE.
- Pop Culture: Prince of Bell-Air edition I don’t remember the dates (this had a previous edition in August I think were I read three book I think). This edition had four prompts, I read ZERO.
- Yoncé-a-thon This ran the whole month of November with twelve prompts (including a bingo board). I wanted to read at least one book and since I couldn’t get a hold on it, I didn’t read a thing.
- The Thousand Doors readathon hosted by drinkbymyshelf, megwithbooks and tazmynmay This ran, primarily, the first week of November but you could do it the whole month. I think there was five prompts/doors and I completed each one!
- Believeathon hosted by Gavin The whole month of November. I wanted to read at least 3 books for this, since I don’t read that much of middle grade. And I ended up finishing four books and starting one which was Any Day With You by Mae Respicio.
- TBRReadathon hosted by Astrid Pizarro and myself This ran the whole month of November too, there where nine prompts and I read nine books completing each prompt.
Those are the readathons I tried this year. I also joined: The Hunger Games readalong at the start of the year, Con Sabor Reading Challenge, Story Atlas Book Club, 3 Blondes and a Book Book club, and Christina Lauren Readalong. And I should add that I am supposed to be joining Oh What Fun! Readathon hosted by Makenzie Lee (host of Story Atlas Book Club) were I go with what my jar picks decide for me (I have been joining this one since the first year she did it AND IS MY FAVORITE HOLIDAY READATHON!)
How many readathons did you tried this year? How many were a success for you?
This is all for today, hope you enjoyed. Thank you for reading my blog! I can’t wait to talk to you in the comments! Hope you all are having a nice day. Keep reading, keep reacting and making new bonds! Take care, I’ll see you on my next one, Goodbye!

Weird question, where do you go to find bookathons and readalongs?

Is not a weird question. Mostly on Twitter, but if you write Readathon Calendar on Google you’ll find various pages were they write down the readathons and the information you should know about them.
